Charles Tyler
Charles Tyler’s practice focuses on federal appellate litigation and complex cases that turn on hard questions of law.
Charles is a Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine, where his scholarship addresses federal courts, constitutional law, and civil procedure. His work has appeared in the Yale Law Journal, the Columbia Law Review, the University of Chicago Law Review, and the Vanderbilt Law Review, among others, and his article The Adjudicative Model of Precedent won the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers’ Eisenberg Prize for the best publication on appellate law. He has also taught at George Washington, Stanford, and Peking University School of Transnational Law.
Charles previously practiced in the appellate groups at Jones Day and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
