This notice explains what information Showalter PLLC (the "firm") collects through this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the website only; information you provide as a client is governed by your engagement letter and the rules of professional conduct.

What we collect

Information you send us. If you use the contact form or email a lawyer, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, phone number, organization, the practice area you select, and your message.

Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) to operate and secure the site. The site does not use advertising trackers and does not set cookies for tracking. Fonts and other assets are served from the site itself, not from third-party font services.

Skill requests. If you request an AI skill by email, we keep your email address so we can send the file and, if you agree, occasional notices about new skills or articles. You can ask us to stop at any time.

How we use it

We use information you send us to respond to your inquiry, to run a conflicts check before any engagement, to send you what you asked for, and to maintain the security of the site. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Service providers

The site is hosted on Vercel, and contact-form messages are delivered by an email delivery service (Resend) to the firm's mailboxes. These providers process information only to provide those services. The firm's own email and document systems are subject to the confidentiality obligations described on the How We Work page.

Retention

Contact-form submissions and inquiry emails are kept as part of the firm’s conflicts records. If you become a client, information is kept under the firm’s file-retention policy.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it (subject to professional-responsibility obligations), or ask us to stop contacting you by emailing michael@showalterpllc.com.

Confidential information

Please do not send confidential or privileged information through the contact form or by email until the firm has completed a conflicts check and confirmed in writing that it can represent you. Sending a message does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Children

The site is intended for adults and businesses and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this notice as the site changes—for example, if analytics are added. The effective date above will change when we do.
