AI Skill
Matter Log
A procedure for keeping an AI assistant tied to a matter's record across sessions: read the whole record before advising, keep the current posture at the top of the log, and mark overtaken entries as superseded.
Matter Log tells an AI assistant when it must read a matter's record and what counts as reading it: the entire log, plus every filing, notice, and letter added since the last full read, before the first piece of advice in a new session, after a long conversation has been compacted, or when the lawyer returns to the matter. The assistant then states the posture in five lines or fewer, with a source for each line, before it advises.
It also sets the structure of the log itself. Each log opens with a current-posture section and a list of settled decisions the assistant is not to reopen, every entry carries a dated heading, and an entry that later events overtake is marked superseded, so a later session can tell the plan as it stands from the plan as it once was.
